A chair model and a cushion for his future wife, both from 1910, have entered the collection.
Esperança Sánchez Masó, granddaughter of Rafael Masó, has donated to the Foundation a chair from 1910, of which there is only this copy that the architect always kept. This is the prototype or a first model for the Casa Coll furniture, which also has a small heart carved into the backrest.
She has also donated a cushion that Masó designed for the writing desk of his future wife, Esperança Bru, in the same year. According to the description made by the art historian Josep Casamartina, this pillow is a work "immersed in the world of Gaudí and Jujol, despite being an extremely personal and successful piece. The IHS Christogram is surrounded by three thistles, sign of purity, and the whole background is populated with stars and small suns. There are also two hearts, one large and one small. A border frames everything, made of triangles. The four parts of the border are carved in the center with the names Josep and Maria, each also split in two.” Both objects will soon be on display during the visit to Casa Masó.
