It is an open and free online resource that aims to be a reference publication
The Institut d’Estudis Catalans (IEC), through its Historical-Archaeological Section, and the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya (MNAC) have presented the “Diccionari d’artistes catalans, valencians i balears”, a resource that offers online — that is, open and free and also easily revised — a new and complete dictionary of our creators in all specialties of plastic arts, architecture, photography and design, with more detailed articles than those of general encyclopedias already in existence.
Directed by Francesc Fontbona, Eduard Vallès and Bonaventura Bassegoda, the Dictionary is a project in progress for which more than 130 entries can already be consulted, written by a team of 89 art historians.
Rafael Masó is present with an entry written by the director of the Foundation, Jordi Falgàs, in which an extensive presentation of his life and work is offered, an overall critical assessment of his contributions, a list of individual exhibitions or groups in which the architect's work has been presented, and a bibliography with the main monographs, reference works and articles. Soon, the editors of the dictionary will add the images of some of the most prominent buildings in Masó, as the Dictionary is a work in progress.
