In just over two months, the stained glass window of Saint Peter will be inaugurated at the church of Verges. To celebrate, the “Rafael Masó Conference Series, 1925–2025: A Hundred Years of Noucentisme in Verges” has been organized to showcase the work of the architect in this town in the Empordà region.
If you don’t want to miss any of the activities, take note:
On Sunday, April 20, the vocal group Projecte Anònim will perform the “Missa pro defunctis, for 5 voices” by Cristóbal de Morales (16th century) at the church of Verges.
On Saturday, April 26, you are invited to discover Masó’s life and his stained glass work with Dr. Jordi Falgàs, director of the Rafael Masó Foundation; Dr. Núria Gil Ferré, member of Corpus Vitrearum Catalunya; and Ms. Anna Santolaria, stained glass artist and director of Vitralls Can Pinyonaire.
On Saturday, May 10, there will be a guided tour titled “Rafael Masó in Verges” inside the church, where you'll learn about the renovation he proposed between 1924 and 1925. The tour will feature the coordinators of the “Vitrall Masó Verges 2025” project and master ceramicist Jaume Marcó from Quart.
And finally, be sure to save the date Sunday, June 29, the feast of Saint Peter, when the stained glass window will be officially inaugurated!
All activities are free of charge, except for the concert, whose proceeds will go toward funding the stained glass window.
