Different groups of architects from around the world will visit the house over the coming weeks.
The 2026 Barcelona World Congress of Architects of the International Union of Architects (UIA) offers attendees a wide variety of guided itineraries that complement the six conceptual themes of Becoming. Architectures for a Planet in Transition - More-than-human, Attuned, Embodied, Interdependent, Hyper-conscious, and Circular. These itineraries transform the Congress's conceptual framework into a hands-on experience through visits to numerous landmark architectural projects in the Barcelona metropolitan area and throughout Catalonia.
Among the itineraries across the region, one of the proposed routes is the Girona-Banyoles axis, a visit that will allow architects to discover emblematic interventions such as the mural by Arranz Bravo and Bartolozzi at the Tippel factory in Parets del Vallès and, in Girona, the restoration of the Onyar riverside houses by Fuses and Viader, as well as Casa Masó. The itinerary then continues to Banyoles, where participants will visit works including the Pesquera d'en Malagelada by Maurici Pla, the Banys Vells by Josep Miàs, and the renovation of Banyoles' historic centre, also designed by Josep Miàs.
A few days later, a group of Chinese architects attending the Congress will visit Casa Masó and Girona Cathedral before continuing on to Banyoles to explore several works by Josep Miàs.
During the days of the UIA Congress, more than 10,000 participants and 250 speakers from around the world will gather across eight venues, with over 100 sessions. The programme also includes a central exhibition covering 4,000 square metres and seventy architectural itineraries throughout the region. Located along Barcelona's waterfront - from the iconic turbine hall of Les Tres Xemeneies to major civic facilities - the Congress expands beyond the conventional conference format, allowing participants to experience both the city and the wider territory. Plenary sessions, lectures and debates, open forums, workshops, research presentations, and public celebrations will activate the city as a concentrated space for exchange. From 28 June to 2 July, Barcelona will become a global meeting point for architects, researchers, students, and institutions.
