Revisiting the life and legacy of Narcís-Jordi Aragó i Masó, ten years after his death, offers an opportunity to bring together memories, experiences, and documents, but above all to reconnect with the pulse of a journalist who lived his profession with absolute intensity. His was a career marked by commitment and advocacy: the pen as a weapon, selfless collaboration as an ideal, and the memory of a silenced past as a driving force for shaping the future.

Born in 1932, he experienced the Civil War as a child, the post-war years as an adolescent, and the Franco dictatorship as the backdrop to his personal and professional development. His family roots, deeply connected to the fields of law, culture, and journalism, nurtured a steadfast vocation and forged a quietly rebellious spirit. In a context of extreme hardship, Aragó practised a subtle form of cultural activism that would ultimately prove crucial to the future of both the city and the country. As he himself described it: "with the hushed voice of fear, in the clandestine strongholds of resistance, in political gatherings disguised as cultural soirées, in protest demonstrations camouflaged as poetry readings."

This exhibition traces eighty-four years of a life devoted to public engagement and civic commitment. At the same time, it pays tribute to the generations who came before him and paved the way for this shared journey of culture, journalism, and freedom.
