The hall

The predominance of wood, cream and chocolate colours of the hall convey a sense of warmth to welcome visitors to the house. With the repetition of the long, vertical, geometric shapes (the border edging the ceiling, the dado rails, the woodwork of the staircase) and the light coming down from the skylight at the back, Masó also managed to create a sensation of spaciousness, with its orderly and solemn decoration. The 19th century French clock takes pride of place on the wall.
